Cool thing about the Vic is that it is totally inspiring arsing around carving. Just occurred to me- sometimes you maybe want a gift for the family or other loved ones, and here' s an idea. How about you carve a heart, and while you are at it, you can also carve several right away. Here's how I do it.
This is how the top looked like after carving the triangular recession.
Do a bit of refining the edges, and there you have it. Good for decorating gift boxes or for leaving them in the woods for others to find and hopefully enjoy. I like to do that these days to spread some joy and portray that not all knives are evil.
Start with a branch and whittle the top flat. Carve or use your saw to put a triangular recession along the length into the middle. Round the edges again.

Have fun and take care!
